About us

Mother of Our Redeemer, established in 1988, continues to serve Catholics in the north of Miami Lakes. Father Fernando Compaired, the founding pastor, served the parish from 1988 to 2005. The first Mass was celebrated at American High School before moving to a storefront a nearby shopping center. The parish erected hall that continues to function as a meeting and worship space for more than 1,200 families who attended its seven weekend Spanish and English Masses.

The parish established an elementary school in 2002 with students attending from pre-kindergarten-3 through eighth grade. Volunteers operate a telephone prayer line and staff a parish gift shop for religious articles, which funds numerous outreach ministries, including aiding the needy with funds for emergency rent, medicine, food and clothing.
